God's light is for everyone.
From Sept 12, 2017:
Hey Momo!!
Haha
I'm glad you enjoyed the update from last week! :) There's always
plenty of adventures to talk about. They don't always involve shedding
blood or something crazy like that, but I like to think my life is
exciting here. ^^ Sounds like life is definitely exciting over there. I
have been wondering about all these natural disasters as well. It sounds
like things are starting to heat up in the world, not only with
politics but with the earth itself. But we don't Need to fear.
Our
friends are doing well. :) Monday is on track for his baptism and he
(and we) are super excited for it. We Need to figure out all of the
technical things right now because it's in about two weeks. Please pray
that he won't encounter any problems. Satan really likes to go for people at
this point. But other that our other friends are doing well! We had a
call this week from a guy who investigated the church quite a long time
ago who told us he wants to be baptized. It was kind of a shock, because
this guy had some really hard deep Gospel questions the last time we
met with him, but apparently he's decided to make some life changes. :)
We'll see how that goes, we're meeting him tonight. Ildiko (Our friend
from Hungary) told us she feels a special spirit and strength when she
reads in the Book of Mormon, and we had a great lesson about the Plan of
Salvation. Basically, things are going pretty good with them.
Besides
that, Elder Palfreyman and I had a Zone conference in Salzburg, and
that was great. :) President Brown is such a great man. Very inspired,
and he knows us all very well. We planned to sing a duet soon, so we'll
see how that goes!!! Aside from that we had some fun experiences this
week! Not too exciting, but pretty funny. For some reason this week
everyone was touching Elder Palfreyman on the street and it made him
super uncomfortable. I mean, it was hilarious. He'd try to stop someone
and they would express their non-interest by putting their hand on his
shoulder or something and getting in really close and saying the
equivalent of: "I'm Catholic sonny, no thanks." After this happened a
few times he expressed his discomfort to me and I taught him how to say:
"Hands off!" In German. xD I don't know if he'll actually say that to
someone, but it was just hilarious to see like 3 old people in a row
refuse him with a grab of his arm or shoulder.
We
got to watch the Joseph Smith movie this week for Family home evening. I
love that movie so much, it's just so full of emotion and captures his
life in a perfect light.
Amos & Aaron from Chur surprise visit! They were here for a Spartan Race! |
I'd
like to share with you something super cool that I learned this week
before I go. :) I would recommend reading these scriptures in this
order. It brings a crazy new perspective to aquiring light from God.
D&C 93:
36 The aglory of God is bintelligence, or, in other words, clight and truth.
27 And no man receiveth a afulness unless he keepeth his commandments.
28 He that akeepeth his commandments receiveth btruth and clight, until he is glorified in truth and dknoweth all Things.
24 And atruth is bknowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come;
D&C 50:
24 That which is of God is alight; and he that breceiveth clight, and dcontinueth in God, receiveth more elight; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.
D&C 88:
67 And if your eye be asingle to my bglory,
your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no
darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light ccomprehendeth all things.
Moses 1:
39 For behold, this is my awork and my bglory—to bring to pass the cimmortality and deternal elife of man.
John 17:
3 And this is alife beternal, that they might cknow thee the only true dGod, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast esent.
4 I have aglorified thee on the earth: I have bfinished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the aglory which I had with thee bbefore the world was.
I
testify that all that comes from God is light. God's light is there to
guide us, and help us come to know him. I know that when we do our best
to follow the commandments and follow the light God gives us, he can
only give us more light to guide us down the path of righteousness.
Light chases away the darkness, and the light of the Gospel is enough to
chase away any kind or amount of light in anyone's life. The Gospel is
not subjective, and God's existence is not subjective. God lives,
whether we believe it or not, and his light is there whether we believe
it or not. This light is for everyone. I know that to be true. I'm
grateful that I can give my all to share that light with others.
I
love you Mom! I'm so grateful to be your son and to know that
everything is still ok back home. Thanks so much for the support and virtual hugs! They go a long way for sure!! :)
Well I gotta go, but I miss you so much! I hope you have a great week.
